That is a likely headline in a future Philadelphia Inquirer. I have not seen this, but apparently food mascots now race in baseball games. Milwaukee has sausages, Washington has presidents (a food item?) and now we have pierogi in good old Philly. Recently, Jalapeno Hannah won. Matt Gelb, an Inky writer, asks the logical question:
What race can the Phillies adopt at Citizens Bank Park? A competition of Taskykakes? Cheesesteaks? Crazy former mayors?
I vote for Tastycakes. Toldya all good things come from Philadelphia.
